On our way to COP16: Are business ready to deliver on the commitments from the Global Biodiversity Framework?
The European Business & Nature Summit (EBNS) is a high-level political and technical forum which aims to mobilise the business community to move towards becoming nature positive.
We are excited to announce the upcoming European Business & Nature Summit 2023, the largest conference dedicated to crafting sustainable business models working with biodiversity at their core. This year’s edition will take place on October 11-12 in Palazzo Lombardia, Milan, Italy. This will be a unique opportunity to learn about concrete actions and collaborate in shifting the current economic paradigm in line with global goals for nature.
One year before COP16, the Summit will focus on transformative actions that businesses can take to implement the targets and lead the transition to a nature-positive society. The Summit will enjoy high-level keynote speakers from policy and business, and numerous side events to help business on their journey to improve your relationship with nature. Specific group sessions will be dedicated to monitor, assess and disclose biodiversity; to reduce impacts and regenerate ecosystems; to unlock and mobilise financial resources through innovative mechanisms, and on creating inclusive partnerships to accelerate actions.
By attending, you will have the opportunity to engage in pre-competitive collaborations, share best practices, and learn from leading businesses, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, NGOs, and policymakers. The Summit will host high-level business-policy dialogues and practical workshops catered to businesses and financial institutions that are new to the topic of biodiversity, as well as those who are looking to scale up their efforts.
This year, the Summit will showcase solutions that can transform business models to protect and restore biodiversity, with a special focus on the Mediterranean region as a biodiversity hotspot, as industries with operations in the region are highly exposed to nature-related risks.
We believe that a whole-of-society and immediate approach is necessary to shift the current economic paradigm in line with the global goals for nature. By recognizing the need for businesses, public authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to collaborate, we can protect our planet’s biodiversity and shape a sustainable future for all.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about concrete actions that businesses can take to protect and restore biodiversity and inspire other to act.
