A new green lung for Porto (PT)

The inauguration of the Campanhã Intermodal Terminal

In July 2022 the Campanhã Intermodal Terminal (TIC) was inaugurated, representing an inportant point for the public transport system in Porto. the project was budgeted at over 13 million euros and covers a green area of over 4.6 hectares. It is a new step by the City of Porto to achieve carbon neutrality in the city of Porto by 2030 as set in the Porto Climate Pact.

50 thousand square metres of total implantation area;
24 thousand square metres of total gross construction area;
A garden area of 4.6 hectares, representing the largest green cover (1,600 trees) ever implemented in a public building in the city;
230 car parking spaces;
100 parking spaces for bicycles;
30 parking spaces for support time;
8 boarding and alighting bays, on a rotating basis;
Up to one thousand services per day;
Up to 120 thousand passengers per day;
43 million people per year;
Creation of 55 jobs immediately;
Reduction of 1776 tep (tonnes of oil equivalent) in downtown Porto.
