SFG Anniversary Conference “Green City of the Future”

On June 22, 2022, the swiss association of greening building (SFG) will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a day-long event on current issues in greening buildings. This anniversary conference “Green City of the Future” would like to encourage people to join forces and design cities that are fit for the future!

The EFB is very happy to annouce that the SFG is again actively involved in activities of the EFB. This is a joyful and knowledgeable enrichment for the European association.

Green infrastructures and green buildings in particular are of great importance and are becoming increasingly popular. Their ecosystem services such as evaporative cooling, shading and meteoric water retention have a regulating effect during periods of heat or heavy precipitation. They help us address current and future challenges such as biodiversity promotion, urban heat island, air quality and quality of life, and actively shape the green city of the future.

“It’s not in the stars to hold our destiny but ourselves”

William Shakespeare

Green buildings are of great importance and are becoming increasingly popular. Their ecosystem services such as evaporative cooling, shading and retention have a regulating effect during periods of heat or heavy precipitation. Greening buildings helps us address current and future challenges such as biodiversity and heat islands, improve quality of life, and actively shape the green city of the future.

But how does this vision fit into our growing cities and the desired energy transition? How can green buildings be integrated into urban and regional planning? What is the role of the various actors such as the federal government and cantons, municipal administrations, science and industry with their different interests and motives? How can we jointly create a climate-resilient, grandchild-friendly and green city of the future?

Join the discussion! On June 22, 2022, we will set out together.
