Latvian Association of Landscape Architects (LAAA)

Latvian Association of Landscape Architects (LAAA) is a professional association of landscape architecture specialists established on December 6, 1995.

LAAA is the only professional organization in Latvia that brings together specialists from various fields, represents the landscape architecture sector, and promotes its development.

LAAA has about 120 members – professionals in the field of landscape architecture – landscape architects, landscape planners, spatial development planners, researchers, educators, landscape builders, dendrologists, ornamental gardeners, park gardeners, students, and others, and 5 members are legal entities (companies operating in the landscape construction and design sector).

LAAA goals

  • To promote and develop knowledge, technical expertise, and responsibility in the professional activities of landscape architecture;
  • To bring together landscape architects, landscape architecture students, and specialists working in related fields working in Latvia to encourage, maintain, and further develop Latvia’s landscape architecture traditions;
  • Publish achievements in Latvian landscape architecture and advocate for specialists’ copyrights;
  • Collaborate with other organizations in Latvia and worldwide.

 

LAAA activities

  • Participation in the development and updating of legislative acts binding on the profession;
  • Organization of certification of specialists;
  • Organization of professional training and practical work experience plenary sessions;
  • Organization of seminars and lectures;
  • Organization of exhibitions;
  • Organization of experience trips;
  • Organization of competitions and other events;
  • Public information.
