Kick-off Event StatiPLANT
Kick-off for the StatiPLANT Research Project
On February 11th, the kickoff event for the STATIPLANT research project took place at the GRÜNSTATTGRAU office in Vienna in a hybrid format. This one-year project, funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), aims to develop a standard model for the structural assessment of climbing plants. The goal is to create a robust foundation for making the integration of climbing plants into the built environment safer, more predictable, and more widely applicable.
The project team comprises experts in research, green roofs and walls, and technology development. Participating institutions include:
• AIT – Austrian Institute of Technology
• BuGG – German Federal Association for Green Buildings
• RWT Plus
• EFB – European Federation of Green Roof and Wall Associations
The EFB’s responsibility in this project includes building and maintaining the international literature and data base, as well as preparing and conducting the expert interviews.
With this consortium, StatiPLANT is taking an important step toward advancing green infrastructure and strengthening the role of climbing plants as climate-active building blocks in urban areas.
