SUMMARY:CitiesAlive Conference in New York City\, USA
DESCRIPTION:Cities worldwide face unprecedented challenges: extreme heat\, intense flooding storms\, rising ocean levels\, growing populations\, inequity combined with declining human and ecosystem health. Future proofing cities is about designing built environments\, public spaces\, services and policies that make our communities more adaptable and resilient in the face of these challenges. Green infrastructure involves capturing stormwater as a resource\, and using it to grow plants in\, on and around buildings. \nGreen infrastructure remains a fundamental and underutilized opportunity for us to secure a healthier and more prosperous future. At CitiesAlive hundreds of experts will come together to share new research\, design practices\, products\, policies and services that help all of us advance our collective ability to future proof our cities. \nWe invite you to attend the 20th CitiesAlive Conference from September 30-October 3\, 2026 at the Marriott by the Brooklyn Bridge. \nMore information and registration here: https://citiesalive.org/ \n

SUMMARY:Symposium "Greening the built island and urban infrastructure and the fight against the urban heat island"\, Cachan\, France
DESCRIPTION:On October 8\, 2026\, Adivet is organizing its third symposium on the theme of the greening of the built block and the fight against UHI\, but also summer comfort\, at ESTP Cachan. A day of presentations and exchanges with experts in the field. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nESTP Cachan – 43 rue Marcel Bonnet – 94230 Cachan (Arcueil-Cachan station on RER B) Large amphitheater (Vicat building) \nAfter the heat waves we experienced this summer and again very recently\, the issue of the fight against the urban heat island is more topical than ever! \nUrban heat islands or UHIs are multiplying\, exposing city dwellers\, and especially the most vulnerable groups\, and threatening their well-being and\, above all\, their health. \nThe greening of the built block – in particular roofs and facades – and urban infrastructure can provide a response to these UHIs thanks to the phenomenon of evapotranspiration. It can also intervene for better summer comfort for building users. \nFor its third conference\, Adivet is offering a day of presentations and exchanges to detail the theme: definitions\, scientific explanations \, conditions for proven effectiveness\, support systems\, feedback and state of the art of research will be on the menu of this meeting. \nSpeakers from various backgrounds will bring their insights\, analyses and experiences on this issue: What roles can the greening of buildings play? Under what conditions\, within what limits? What are the future prospects? \nThis day will bring together experts in the field and an audience made up of players in the building greening sector\, contractors\, designers\, researchers\, public authorities\, etc. and will be an opportunity for multiple exchanges. \nTo register: \nhttps://www.helloasso.com/associations/adivet-l-association-de-la-vegetalisation-de-l-ilot-bati-et-des-infrastructures-urbaines-vertes/evenements/colloque-vegetalisation-de-l-ilot-bati-et-lutte-contre-l-ilot-de-chaleur-urbain \nWith the support of \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Partners \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgramme – 08.10.2026 – from 9.30 am to 5 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIntroduction of the Adivet – M.
